Beypazarı
A living open-air museum on the Historic Silk Road, Beypazarı is famed for its century-old wooden mansions, silver filigree craft, carrots, and distinctive cuisine.
Situated 100 km from Ankara on the ancient Silk Road, Beypazarı boasts numerous natural attractions including İnözü Valley, Eğriova Plateau, the Kirmir River, Gönen Valley, Tekke Plateau, and the Dutlu Tahtalı Thermal Facilities (20 km away). The annual Karaşar Eğriova Plateau Festival brings vibrant folk traditions to life.
Master craftsmanship flourishes here, including hand-hammered coppersmithing, delicate gold and silver filigree (telkari), gold embroidery, silk hand-weaving, leather saddlery, and traditional ironworking. Famous for over 3,000 historic Ottoman houses, the town also shelters the 13th-century Seljuk Boğazkesen Tomb, the 1863 Suluhan Caravanserai, and the historic Akşemsettin, Sultan Alaaddin, and Kurşunlu mosques.
Turkey's carrot capital and mineral spring hub, Beypazarı offers a renowned culinary culture: clay-pot güveç, 80-layer homemade baklava, delicate stuffed vine leaves, höşmerim, and the crunchy Beypazarı Kurusu rusk.
