Terraced along the dramatic hills and ravines of Beypazarı, more than 3,500 registered Ottoman-period mansions form one of Turkey's best-preserved urban ensembles.
Cleverly built so that no house blocks the light or view of its neighbor, these mansions feature stone lower floors, white lime plaster, and distinctive top-floor 'guşgana' attics used for drying fruits. Hand-forged iron knockers and carved timber ceilings adorn every residence.
