Mamak
Eastern capital gateway featuring Mavi Göl (Bayındır Dam), the rugged rock-cut tombs of Kıbrıs Canyon, and the 13th-century Hüseyin Gazi Shrine.
Situated just 3.5 km east of Ulus, Mamak contains major natural excursion areas led by Mavi Göl (Blue Lake / Bayındır Dam Reservoir), alongside more than 180 landscaped city parks and waterfalls.
The archaeological zone of Kıbrıs Village features a dramatic limestone canyon with ancient caves and Roman-era rock-cut tombs. Perched atop the highest commanding peak in Ankara is the sacred 13th-century Hüseyin Gazi Tomb and Dervish Lodge, alongside the historic Kayaş Old Mosque.
Cultural life thrives in the restored Musiki Muallim Mektebi (historic Teacher's Music School now hosting the municipal conservatory) and the 75th Year Republic Amphitheatre.
