Gölbaşı
Ankara's premier lakeside nature haven, blessed with Lake Mogan, Lake Eymir, the endemic Love Flower (Sevgi Çiçeği), and Tulumtaş Cave.
Located just 20 km south of central Ankara, Gölbaşı is the primary lakeside resort and recreation district of the capital. Lake Mogan (and Mogan Park) alongside Lake Eymir offer boating, birdwatching, water sports, and tranquil promenades.
Tulumtaş Cave at Karayatat Hill is an extraordinary geological wonder filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and crystal formations, protected as a 1st-degree natural asset.
The district is also the unique global habitat for the critically endangered, endemic 'Love Flower' (Sevgi Çiçeği / Centaurea tchihatcheffii), which blooms in vivid red-purple tones every spring.
