Bala

Located south of Ankara, Bala is characterized by the pine forests of Beynam National Park, Kesikköprü Dam, and its historic Harvest Festival.

Located 70 km south of Ankara, Bala contains the protected pine haven of Beynam Forests National Park (35 km from Ankara), one of the capital's most treasured woodland excursion areas.

At Kesikköprü Dam (40 km from Bala centre, 110 km from Ankara), visitors can picnic, swim, and take boat tours. The dam area hosts Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Youth Camps. Since 1921, Bala has proudly celebrated its annual Harvest Festival (Hasat Festivali).

The district also preserves the historic Beynam Atatürk House, where Mustafa Kemal Pasha stayed and strategized during crucial moments of the National Struggle.
