Mimar Sinan Monument
1956 marble and bronze statue by Hüseyin Anka Özkan at Ankara University DTCF faculty, honoring grand imperial architect Mimar Sinan.
Located in the forecourt of Ankara University’s Faculty of Language and History-Geography (DTCF) in Sıhhiye, the monument was sculpted in 1956 by Hüseyin Anka Özkan.
Fulfilling Atatürk's directive to celebrate Sinan’s genius, the statue depicts the master architect holding compasses and architectural plans in contemplative thought.
