Seğmen Culture
The heroic Seğmen brotherhood of Ankara, embodying civic solidarity, bravery, and the historic welcoming of Atatürk on December 27, 1919.
Rooted in Oghuz Turkic and medieval Ahi traditions, the Seğmen culture represents civic honor, courage, and community solidarity.
On December 27, 1919, armed Seğmen riders formed a historic honor guard on the Dikmen hills to welcome Atatürk to Ankara, pledging their lives to the Republic.
