Mehmetçik Monument
A 32-meter-tall monumental sculpture atop Kartaltepe in Polatlı, honoring the heroism of Turkish soldiers during the Battle of Sakarya.
Rising atop Kartaltepe along the Polatlı-Ankara highway, this colossal 32-meter monument was erected to commemorate the heroic stand of Turkish infantrymen (Mehmetçik) during the Battle of Sakarya.
Adjacent to the statue is the Sakarya Battle Panoramic Museum, presenting immersive multimedia exhibits, historical dioramas, and authentic battle artifacts.
