Hacı Bayram Veli Mosque
Built in 1427–1428 adjoining the ancient Temple of Augustus, featuring exquisite carved woodwork and Kütahya tiles as the spiritual heart of Ankara.
Standing in Hacı Bayram Square in Ulus directly adjoining the ancient Roman Temple of Augustus, this iconic mosque was built in 1427–1428 by architect Mehmet Bey and renovated in 1714.
Featuring timber-framed masonry, carved painted wooden ceilings, and vibrant 18th-century Kütahya ceramic wall tiles, it is conjoined on its southeast flank with the sacred Tomb of Hacı Bayram Veli.
